Naples Women's Center welcomes Certified Nurse Midwife Elizabeth Stein

NAPLES, Fla. - June 14, 2019 - PRLog -- Naples Women's Center recently welcomed Certified Midwife Elizabeth Stein, CNM, MSN, MPH. Stein, who relocated from New York where she owned her own practice, is a Certified Nurse Practitioner and a Certified Midwife with more than 35 years of experience. She is the first and only midwife that currently holds privileges at The Birth Center located on the Naples Community Hospital – North Campus.

Stein graduated from Columbia University in New York City, where she specialized in midwifery education and earned her master's degree in nursing and public health. She earned her certification from the American College of Nurse-Midwives in 1985. Stein combines modern medicine and technology with holistic care that is inherent in midwifery.

"Midwives provide a valued role in women's gynecological and maternity care, and I am honored to work closely with patients to educate, encourage and empower them to make choices that enhance their overall health, pregnancy experience and strengthen their family," Stein said.

Stein has extensive experience with high-risk pregnancies, and in addition to obstetric care, she also offers prenatal care, postpartum care, breastfeeding support, annual gynecological exams, breast exams, pap smears, HPV testing, vaccinations, family planning, STD screening/treatment, infertility treatment, and peri-menopausal and post-menopausal care.
