Udacity Launches School of Cloud Computing

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. - June 11, 2019 - PRLog -- Udacity, the global pioneer in lifelong learning, today launched its School of Cloud Computing. The new school includes two new Nanodegree programs: the Cloud Developer Nanodegree program (https://www.udacity.com/course/cloud-developer-nanodegree--nd9990) and the Cloud DevOps Nanodegree program (https://www.udacity.com/course/cloud-dev-ops-nanodegree--nd9991). These Nanodegree programs offer access to the latest in-demand cloud computing skills using the AWS platform.

Companies, big and small, are rapidly adopting cloud computing to enable their digital transformation. According to the latest Gartner report (https://www.gartner.com/en/newsroom/press-releases/2018-09-12-gartner-forecasts-worldwide-public-cloud-revenue-to-grow-17-percent-in-2019), the cloud tech services market is projected to grow 17.3% in 2019, totaling $206 billion. This growth is due to the desirability of Cloud Computing, as it allows companies to innovate at a faster pace and reduce operational costs.

"Finding employees with the skills to drive cloud computing programs is one of the biggest hindrances to digital transformation," said Lalit Singh, Chief Operating Officer at Udacity.  "Udacity's new School of Cloud Computing will help create the next generation of Cloud Developers and Cloud DevOps Engineers that can help companies drive these critical programs."

Talented developers and DevOps professionals who can lead digital transformations into cloud computing are in high demand. According to Forbes (https://www.forbes.com/sites/louiscolumbus/2018/11/27/whe...), there are more than 50,000 cloud computing jobs available in the US alone with a median salary of $146,000. Additionally, DevOps engineering roles  topped LinkedIn's "Most Recruited Jobs (https://business.linkedin.com/content/dam/me/business/en-...)" list in 2018.

An Overview of the School of Cloud Computing Nanodegree programs

The School of Cloud Computing will initially focus on two roles: Cloud Developers and Cloud DevOps Engineers.

A Cloud Developer is responsible for developing, deploying and testing applications on the cloud or migrating existing apps to the cloud. Through hands-on projects and industry-relevant examples, the Cloud Developer Nanodegree program (http://udacity.com/course/cloud-developer-nanodegree--nd9990) will help you build the necessary skills to develop and distribute applications  on the cloud using microservices architecture with Kubernetes, and serverless frameworks.

The Cloud DevOps Engineer Nanodegree program (http://udacity.com/course/cloud-dev-ops-nanodegree--nd9991) is geared towards operations and software engineering professionals who want to build infrastructure that delivers product and services at both speed and  scale. The program includes projects that teach you how to create continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, deploy massive infrastructure securely using code, and operationalize microservices using Kubernetes.
