-- NEVA Mobile Vascular Access Chief Operating Officer, Laurie Chandler, MSN, RN, CCRN, VA-BC received the 2019 Excellence in Nursing Award for Ambulatory Care Nursing recently in New Hampshire. The NH Nurses Association and NH Magazine created this award to recognize the unsung heroes of the healthcare industry.
Laurie's career spans 14 years in intensive care and emergency room settings. For the past 2 years she has been working with NEVA, Mobile Vascular Access, helping to bring expert IV therapy device placement to healthcare facilities of all sizes, especially in rural areas. Laurie's mission is to increase awareness and respect for this overlooked and underutilized specialty, to not only nursing but to the entire healthcare community.
This year, over 140 nominations were reviewed and chosen by an independent committee of nurse leaders. There were 13 awards one for each category- Emergency Nursing, Public Health Nursing, Nurse Leader, Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing, Medical-Surgical Nursing, Cardiovascular Nursing, Hospice, and Palliative Care Nursing, Gerontologic and Long-term Care Nursing, Nursing Professor, Ambulatory Care Nursing, Advance Practiced Registered Nurse, Maternal-Child Health Nursing, and Pediatric, and School Nursing.
