The Montessori Method for All Generations

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - June 5, 2019 - PRLog -- When Montessori ONE Academy's Nido (pronounced nee-doe) opens in June 2019, it will be the third of four unique Montessori projects developed along Holly Avenue NE.

The first Montessori project developed along Holly Avenue NE was Montessori ONE Academy's preschool program. Built in 2007, Montessori ONE Academy became, and is still, Albuquerque's only Association Montessori Internationale (AMI)-recognized Montessori program. In 2015, the private school expanded and brought the second Montessori project to Holly Avenue NE with their Elementary program. Just four years later, in June 2019, this award-winning school brings a third Montessori project to completion with the launch of the academy's Nido program. Italian for nest, Montessori ONE's Nido is the first authentic Montessori infant care program in New Mexico and one of only sixteen official Nido programs in the United States.

The Nido was designed and built with Montessori principles in mind. It promises to be a premiere infant care environment that appeals to working parents and will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony co-hosted by the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce on Friday, June 21, 2019 at 4pm.

Montessori ONE Academy's passion for its philosophy and a collaborative partnership with Hira LLC and Insight Senior Living has resulted in a fourth Montessori-inspired project just next door to their Holly Avenue campus—Amaran Senior Living.  Amaran will feature both assisted living and memory care residences with on-site programming and architectural design rooted in Montessori theory, an approach that focuses on engaging older adults in an adaptive, supportive environment that facilitates independence.

Amaran Senior Living will be the first Montessori-led senior living community in both New Mexico and the United States. With a focus on inter-generational programming and the partnership with Montessori ONE Academy, Amaran Senior Living will deliver a cross-generational experience that offers an avenue to share a lifetime of experiences, skills, knowledge, and wisdom with future generations.

With a Groundbreaking ceremony scheduled for Friday, January 21, 2019 at 3:00 pm, Amaran anticipates a Fall 2020 opening. The community will feature 72 spacious and stylish apartments and employ approximately 50 employees. Amaran Senior Living will be operated by Insight Senior Living, headquartered in West Linn, Oregon.

The Groundbreaking and Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies are open to the public and will be co-hosted by the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce. Catering will be provided by The Acre.
