PL3Y Education BC Announces New School Program YOGAPL3Y Available to all Vancouver Lower Mainland
PL3Y Education BC is adding a new school program, YOGAPL3Y, to their current DANCEPL3Y school workshop offerings, teaching BC students Physical Literacy and Mental Health resiliency through the 3 Rules of PL3Y.
DANCEPL3Y, a mixed-style dance program that promotes mental health and develops physical literacy. It was created by local Vancouverite, Physical Literacy Expert and TEDx presenter, Melanie Levenberg. DANCEPL3Y school workshops have received international accolades for their positive impact on school climate, mental health and self-esteem as students learn and live the 3 Rules of PL3Y: Be Positive. Be Fun. Be Yourself.
YOGAPL3Y, PL3Y Education BC's newest offering, is a mental wellness and physical literacy program that introduces students to yoga through a playful class style. Students get energized through fun and interACTIVE yoga poses and activities that develop coordination, strength and fundamental movement skills (such as balance, twisting, bending, jumping, hopping, rolling etc.). They also practice calming and self-regulation skills through discipline, focus and connection to breath.
PL3Y Education BC, owned by Brooke Yantzi, is the exclusive provider of DANCEPL3Y and YOGAPL3Y programs to schools in British Columbia.
In the 2018-19 school year, the PL3Y Education BC team, made up of 11 instructors, impacted 22,250 students and delivered over 100 dance programs to schools across the province.
