Impulse NYC Launches Its Take Flight Campaign at World Pride

NEW YORK - June 5, 2019 - PRLog -- Impulse NYC will launch its new campaign for 2019, Take Flight, at World Pridewith weekend events including its Pride Kickoff party aboard The Intrepid hosted by Scandal's Guillermo Diaz and featuring a performance by RuPaul's Drag Race'sHoney Davenport. "We have a lot to celebrate this year," says Impulse NYC President Rasheed Gonga.  "In addition to 2019 markingthe fiftieth anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, the ten-year anniversary of Impulse Group and the fifth anniversary of Impulse NYC, our team wanted to go above and beyond this year by creating experiential events that truly embody the message of our Take Flightcampaign." Impulse NYC'sPride Kickoff takes place Thursday, June 27 from 7p – 10p aboard The Intrepid.  Impulse NYC will also host its Table for 7: The Layover luncheon on Saturday, June 29 from 1p - 4p at a private townhouse on Manhattan's Upper West Side.

"Impulse NYC works to equip our community with the tools and resources needed for living a healthier and safer life," continues Gonga.  "We save more lives by knowing our status, accepting it and openly sharing and discussing it with friends and lovers."

This year, Impulse NYC's focus will be on sexual health, sexual violence, mental health and substance use. The Take Flight campaign focuses on empowering the community to spread its wings, enjoy their individual life journey and discover their best versions of themselves sexually, mentally and physically.  This follows last year's SOS (Save our Sex) campaign themed with its advocacy driven message around healthier sex that also voiced support for transgendered service men and women.

The Pride Kickoff party aboard The Intrepid will feature several activations designed to lead guests on an inspiring path towards making consciously healthier choices during World Pride.  President Rasheed Gonga will officially open the event, followed by remarks from Celebrity ambassador Guillermo Diaz and a performance by RuPaul's Drag Race Contestant Honey Davenport.

Saturday's Table for 7: The Layover luncheon will be a more intimate affair, allowing guests an opportunity to reflect on where the LGBTQ community has been, where it aims to go and the best route in getting there.  The event encourages real conversation and networking.

The weekend will wrap with Impulse NYC's participation in the World Pride March.  "This will be our fifth year participating in the march," says Impulse NYC's Events Director Dwight Allen O'Neal.  "But this is the first year that we are shifting our focus to be more individually driven.  Living in an era of easy connectivity comes with a great responsibility; we each have a responsibility to every person with whom we connect and this responsibility begins with knowing our status."
