SIA Foundation awards more than $112,000 to 15 Indiana nonprofits

 
LAFAYETTE, Ind. - June 4, 2019 - PRLog -- During a ceremony today at Subaru of Indiana Automotive (SIA), 15 Indiana nonprofit organizations from nine counties were awarded capital grants totaling $112,350.56 by the SIA Foundation.

Since its establishment in 1997, the SIA Foundation has awarded more than $2 million to fund nonprofit projects across Indiana. Recipients at today's event represented Allen, Boone, Delaware, Grant, Greene, Howard, Huntington, Tippecanoe and White counties.

The SIA Foundation awards grants twice annually to nonprofit organizations seeking up to $15,000 in capital funding for arts and culture, health and welfare or education projects. More information can be found at www.siafoundation.org.

Recipients for the spring grant cycle are:

Ball State University (Delaware County) – $2,499
3D chocolate printer in support of STEM experiences for K-12 students

Burnettsville Volunteer Fire Co. (White County) – $5,769.85
Firefighting helmets and flashlights

Carver Community Center (Howard County) – $15,000
Building and kitchen appliance upgrades, as well as athletic equipment

Community Choirs of Huntington County (Huntington County) – $2,320.87
Audio equipment, including microphones, stands, speakers and cases

Faith Community Development Corp. (Tippecanoe County) – $12,051
Diagnostic system and toolset for Car Works program

Greene County Health (Greene County) – $8,700
Three exam tables and a wheelchair scale

Group Homes for Children (Tippecanoe County) – $8,300
Kitchen appliance upgrades and supplies

Klondike Middle School (Tippecanoe County) – $8,971.95
Six water bottle refilling stations

Matthew 25 (Allen County) – $2,119.98
Two glucose monitoring systems

Morning Dove Therapeutic Riding (Boone County) – $4,500
Equicizer and storage shed

NICHES Land Trust (Tippecanoe County) – $1,955
Supplies to replace a bridge

St. Martin Community Center (Grant County) – $10,000
Commercial-grade flooring

SHAK Makerspace (Howard County) – $7,000
Rotary screw air compressor for a plasma table

Supplies for the Wonders on the Wabash (WOW) program

Instructional materials to meet the needs of English Language Learners (ELLs)

About the SIA Foundation
The SIA Foundation was established in October 1997 with a $1 million gift from Subaru of Indiana Automotive. SIA has made subsequent contributions of $4 million, bringing the total contribution to $5 million. The SIA Foundation uses the funding to award grants and matching gifts to nonprofit organizations in Indiana. The SIA Foundation has awarded over $2 million in capital grants.
