, a mutual savings bank headquartered in Danbury with 15 locations throughout Connecticut, honored our veterans this Memorial Day with VIP seating for veterans and their families at the annual parade in front of their headquarters at 220 Main Street in Danbury.
In celebration of veterans and its 170th
anniversary this year the bank sponsored a float of the Ives House, birthplace of Charles Ives. George W. Ives founded the Savings Bank of Danbury in the original Ives House and George E. Ives, the son of the bank's founder, served as a bandmaster for the Union Army during the Civil War.
"We are proud to honor our veterans and their families for their service to our country," said Martin Morgado, President and Chief Executive Officer at Savings Bank of Danbury, adding, "We also honor our ancestors and our veterans from our past. It is an important day to remember the sacrifices of our servicemen and servicewomen."
The Bank has a number of events planned throughout 2019 to commemorate its anniversary, and will announce them throughout the year.About Savings Bank of Danbury
