HENDERSON, Ky. - May 30, 2019 - PRLog -- Athletes from eight countries will convene with American powerlifters in Henderson, Kentucky on June 7, 8, and 9, to compete in the 2019 Single Event World Powerlifting Competition.

The World Drug-Free Powerlifting Federation (WDFPF) will conduct the world competition for individual events: bench press, squat, and deadlift. Male and female lifters from Germany, France, England, Scotland, Russia, Canada, Italy, and Ukraine are scheduled to compete.

Powerlifters in the U.S.A. have not only set world-class lifting records, but many competitors and record-holders reside in the Tri-State area. Jason St. Clair from Birdseye, Indiana, holds the current world record in the squat event, and will be looking to move up his mark. Kyle Reel, of Evansville, Indiana, recently broke all female American records and will be looking to add her name to the World record books. Multi-time Master's World Champion Mike Stagg, and his son Jacob Stagg, who holds three teenage world titles, will be competing as well. The Pit Barbell Club owner, Pat Tyring, and his son Cole, will compete in the deadlift event on Sunday. Bruce Thomas of Henderson, Kentucky, a World Master Champion and World record holder will also be competing.

All lifters competed to qualify and were selected by their National organizations to compete in this world event.

The competition will be conducted over three days at the JFK Community Center in Henderson, KY:

Friday, June 7 - squat competition begins at 3 p.m.
Saturday, June 8 - bench press competition begins at 10 a.m.
Sunday, June 9 - deadlift competition begins at 10 am.

According to ADFPF President, Mike Stagg, "in addition to bringing world-class powerlifting to Henderson/Evansville, the competition is a significant tourism boost for our area, as athletes from all over the world will be spending time in the Tri-State area."

Spectators are invited to attend. Daily event tickets are sold at the door:  $5.00 for adults and children over the age of 12; $10.00 for a 3-day pass, JFK Community Center, 515 S. Alvasia St., Henderson, KY, 42420. Concessions and souvenir t-shirts will be available.

Gym owner, trainer, and meet promoter, Bill Sias adds, "We are very excited to be able to bring these championships to the U.S.A., allowing more of our National team members to participate."
