By: Operation Kindness Since January, Catalani has served as interim CEO of Operation Kindness, remaining on the board of directors over the last four months. During that time, he has demonstrated a combination of business and management skills that have helped lead the organization through a complex building expansion project for facility updates. "We're thrilled that Bob will be continuing in his role as CEO," said Jim Gibson, board president of Operation Kindness. "He has the confidence of the board and senior leadership, and we are excited about having him at the helm leading Operation Kindness into the future." Catalani graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Mary's University in San Antonio. He brings 40 years of business experience to the table, having served as the south regional president of Breakthru Beverage Group, a leading North American beverage wholesaler with more than $5 billion in annual sales and over 7,000 employees. Retiring from his position in August 2018, Catalani got involved in the local community as a planning and zoning commissioner in Addison and joining the board of directors at Operation Kindness. The organization's mission resonated with Catalani as an animal lover and proud owner of Ace and Gracie, his two rescue dogs. "During the months I've worked with Operation Kindness, I've enjoyed being involved in the growth and expansion of an organization that cares deeply for animals," said Catalani. "Equally exciting is the progress being made on our capital campaign. We're eagerly anticipating the new animal hospital being complete in August." Since 1976, Operation Kindness has grown from a small storefront in Garland into a leader in animal welfare in North Texas, assisting over 105,000 homeless animals since its inception. Over the next year, the organization will expand through a $12 million capital campaign that supports renovations and updates to their adoption center and animal hospital. The additions will allow the shelter to assist more animals each year while continuing to provide a safe, no-kill environment with exceptional medical care. "We are committed to the smooth transition that will lead us to achieving our vision of a world where all cats and dogs have loving, responsible, forever homes," said Gibson. "We look forward to a bright future for the animals."
