FORT PIERCE, Fla. - May 30, 2019 - PRLog -- "There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you."  -Maya Angelou

Chris Wadsworth, sole proprietor of Signature Property Management, knew he wanted to get involved in the community but just hadn't found the avenue he wanted to ride on yet. Wadsworth found that avenue after speaking with a friend, Michael Lafreniere of Nature's Ground Landscaping. Lafreniere shared a few stories of his involvement with Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County as a strategic partner. That was enough for Wadsworth to reach out to BGC CEO, Will Armstead and ask "How can I help?"

That question is followed up by setting up a tour of one of the Clubs to see the facility and the Club kids in that environment. The Club tour destination was the Chuck Hill Club located in Port St. Lucie. Wadsworth exchanged smiles with the Club kids that ran by him on the way to their next club activity in the rotation until one Club kid stopped to turn the tables and ask him questions.

A young lady reached out her hand to introduce herself to Wadsworth. "I'm Deonna Johnson. Why are you here?" she asked. "I was so taken by how polite and outgoing she was to a total stranger. She asked about me and had a genuine interest in why I was making a visit to her club." said Wadsworth.

Wadsworth let her know he was there to learn about the club and the Club kids. Deonna shared that she recently sang the National Anthem to start the St. Lucie Mets game for the first time in front of such a large crowd and how her club mentors guided her to succeed and not be nervous.

When Wadsworth returned to his office and shared his experience with his staff members, one staff member praised his decision because her daughter's life was saved by Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County.

"This is storytelling at its best. We need our supporters to reach out to the next generation of support through their relationships. We can say how great we are until we are blue in the face but when it comes from a personal ally it adds so much value." said Will Armstead, CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County.

That life-saving story is no longer inside her and it helped solidify Wadsworth's decision to become a strategic partner with Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County.
