-- Knack DIY Craft Studio, a pop-in craft studio located in Raleigh, North Carolina is gearing up to celebrate one year of business, which for them means one year of making expectations become reality for the city's DIY fanatics, young and old alike. In April of 2019, Knack owner Dina Schweisthal announced that Knack would be moving forward with franchising, giving the DIY-loving community a chance to follow her glittering footsteps in owning a Knack of their very own. Upon reaching its monumental first birthday on June 2, 2019, Knack will have made an impression far beyond North Carolina's borders, catching the eyes of potential franchisees extending to New York and Illinois. "Thank you to everybody for your love and support of Knack, who made this possible" said Schweisthal in a video to her Instagram followers, announcing the endeavor.
Armed with a dream to "gather, inspire, create", Schweisthal spent the last 11 months doing just that, and helping the crafty - and the not so crafty - get in touch with their creative side, offering over 25 projects ranging in difficulty and price. Knack's unique, pop-in model allows crafters to come in at any time during store hours to create any project of their choosing – no reservation needed. Whether it be a trendy wood sign or personalized tote bag, Knack provides all of the supplies, dedicated staff assistance, AND they clean up the mess!
Not only does Knack offer a whimsical studio space for your next girls-day-out, birthday party or team-building event, but they will also bring the fun straight to you. To date, Knack has partnered with several Raleigh area businesses to spread the love of DIY all over the city, such as Compass Rose and Funguys Breweries, as well as participating in events such as the Bloom event for new moms, which took place at WakeMed North hospital. Knack has also worked with several non-profits and other local groups such as the Girl Scouts, Stage Door dance productions, and the Pawsitively Pugs Rescue. Schweisthal is also part of the KNOW Tribe, a group of powerful, women entrepreneurs whose businesses are making an impact all over the city, as well as encouraging women of younger generations that they too can achieve their dreams.
