HAVERHILL, Mass. - May 28, 2019 - PRLog -- It takes an immense amount of skill to put together a documentary that is well-researched and accurate along with being engaging and entertaining.  Executive Producer E. Philip Brown of Haverhill, MA has been an essential part of the team who has succeeded in doing this with the film "The Queen of Connemara" . The  documentary is about the extraordinary, magical and mysterious life of Bina McLoughlin a shepherdess who lived in Leenane, County Mayo, Ireland. Many thought her to be the secret owner of vast wealth and even to have the power of a kind of witchcraft.  In exciting news, Brown recently won the Silver Award for Best Documentary for "The Queen of Connemara" from the very highly regarded European Independent Film Award Festival which is held online on an annual basis.

"This is a great honor and I hope it encourages more people to see the documentary about this utterly enchanting figure Bina  McLoughlin,"  commented Brown about the film award. "Everyone involved has such a passion for the subject, I think it came through powerfully in our work."

In addition to the Silver Award from the European Independent Film Award Festival, some highlights of the other major awards won, so far, for the film include just a few highlights like Global India International Film Festival Award Winnee;  Global Film Festival Awards Award Winner; Independent Shorts Awards Award Winner; Independent Shorts Awards Award Winner; Indie Short Fest Finalist; Motion For Pictures Semi-Finalist; and Aphrodite Film Awards Semi-Finalist.

For over seven decades Bina McLoughin was the unquestioned queen of her small community in County Mayo winning the love and affection of many accused of using magic to curse and bring bad luck on others.  Many of whom even begged her to remove her alleged spells against them on local radio.  While all this took place the shepherdess was also whispered to have a hidden fortune and many other fantastic qualities in and around her, all of which add up to an  outstanding narrative documentary about a one-of-a-kind woman who deserves to, and is, being remembered in this remarkable film.

"The Queen of Connemara" is available for viewing on Amazon Prime Video and Vimeo-on-Demand.
