By: Mill Town Music Hall McCoy grew up in Texas, where his love for music was first established. He began his music career leading an R&B band before later shifting his focus to country music. In 1981, his work in country music paid off when he won a talent contest that secured him a spot as Charley Pride's opening act. This led to a six year stint touring with Pride. Afterwards, McCoy launched his solo career by releasing his debut single in 1988 and debut album, At This Moment, in 1990. His second album, No Doubt About It, landed McCoy his first entry on the Top Country Album charts in 1994. The album topped the charts with back-to-back Number One hits. In 2013, he released a tribute to Charley Pride, entitled Pride. His most recent album, You Don't Know Me, is a collection of songs from the American songbook.
