Plans for conservation and promotion of Badri cow by ULDB

DEHRADUN, India - May 27, 2019 - PRLog -- Under the Badri Cows Conservation and Promotion Project, Uttarakhand livestock development board  is procuring Badri Cows from farmers at reasonable prices. The minimum requirement is that badri cow must give at least 4 liters of milk per day.

Badri cow is the first cow breed of Uttarakhand, which has been recognized by the National Bureau of Animal Genetic Resources (NBAGR), Karnal. Keeping in view the importance of this cow of the mountains, in 2011, the Badri Cows Conservation and Promotion Project is being implemented in Narigalgaon of Champawat district with the help of present Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat by Animal Husbandry Department

Dr. M. S Nayal, CEO, Uttarakhand Livestock Development Board said that under this Project in Champawat, presently more than 193 Badri cows in various livestock enclosures is being maintained by scientific methods.
