The many reasons that make Covington and Newton County a popular travel destination are included in an Official Best Of episode airing on May 25th on CBS (Atlanta) at noon, the Savannah FOX tv affiliate at noon, and 1:00pm on the Chattanooga ABC affiliate.. Viewers will not only recognize various filming locations used in The Vampire Diaries, Originals, Dukes of Hazzard, In the Heat of the Night and feature films, but the local businesses of Mystic Falls Tours/On Location Gifts, WildArt, and Mystic Grill. Downtown Covington Square, Porterdale, the iconic Courthouse and other county-wide destinations are prominently highlighted, showing off the versatility of Newton County and why it appeals to all types of travelers from outdoor enthusiasts to young families.
