Butterfly Effects Now Offering ABA Therapy Services to Families and Children in Western Mass
Children Affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder in Western Massachusetts Can Now Benefit from Treatment Offered by Butterfly Effects, One of the Largest Providers of ABA Therapy in the Country
By: Butterfly Effects
Butterfly Effects (BE) is an Autism Specific Provider Group that implements a home and community-based services treatment model. The treatment model is grounded in the implementation science of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Family-Centered Planning, Routines-Based Intervention, and family participation. BE's treatment philosophy is guided by the belief that services should be provided in a natural environment as early as possible, be individualized for each child/family, and support the unique culture of each family. The BE treatment team is led by a Licensed Applied Behavior Analyst (LABA) who will engage the family in their child's treatment, coordinate care with other treatment professionals, work with community resources, supervise the behavior technician (BT) implementing the treatment plan, and develop a positive collaborative relationship with any other professionals working with the child and family.
BE believes that all children affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) have a right to evidence-based practices, instructional materials based on a developmental curriculum, and intervention that is planned and systematic. These children should also receive intervention directed towards ameliorating the core deficits associated with an ASD diagnosis, such as developing communication skills and social relationships. These interventions are integrated into the child's and family's daily routines by increasing the child's learning through meaningful participation in everyday activities. The BE treatment team also places a strong emphasis on coaching family members on treatment interventions. "We create a collaborative environment that promotes meaningful learning opportunities and experiences through individualized ABA therapy, for our clients and their circle of support," said Butterfly Effects President Dr. Steve Woolf, BCBA-D, LABA.
The region will be guided under the direction of Dr. Woolf, who is a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst on the Doctoral (BCBA-D) level with over 20 years of experience working with children and families affected by ASD. Prior to joining Butterfly Effects in early 2018, Dr. Woolf made his roots in Massachusetts as the Senior Vice President of the largest ABA-informed home-based treatment provider in the Northeast. Under his leadership over the last 15 months, Butterfly Effects has focused on family collaboration, streamlining processes to get services to families quickly, developing community managers, increased and on-going staff training, and creating a mentorship program to support new staff.
