Rick Sievers, Community Home Health & Hospice, Chosen as Volunteer of the Year

VANCOUVER, Wash. - May 14, 2019 - PRLog -- Community Home Health & Hospice is proud to announce that Rick Sievers has been chosen as Volunteer of the Year by the Home Care Association of Washington (HCAW). This statewide award recognizes a cherished person who gives that most special gift of time. Sievers received the award in Bellevue, WA, on May 2, 2019, at a ceremony hosted by HCAW. Sievers began volunteering for the agency in March 2017 and has donated just over 321 hours in less than two years.

"He always wanted to do more for us.  His monthly volunteer timesheet indicated he spent 30+ hours each month on self-initiated activities for our agency," said Sheryl Reeder, volunteer coordinator. Sievers considers it a privilege to be present with patients and their families and to help them on their journey. He has a background in mental health and family support services. He has four published volumes of poetry, several of his paintings have been featured in local art shows, and he facilitates yoga sound meditations with his wife. In his free time, Sievers enjoys sailing with family and friends on the Columbia River. His volunteer role has turned into employment as he recently accepted a position as the assistant bereavement coordinator. Community Home Health & Hospice is looking for volunteers.
