Valerie Fields stands outside the building she plans to renovate in Raleigh, NC
- May 14, 2019
-- A vacant commercial building in downtown Raleigh is coming back to life, thanks to a local entrepreneur and public relations executive who signed a 10-year lease to occupy the building, beginning in summer 2019. Valerie Fields, founder and owner of the PR PROS public relations agency, is completely renovating a former photography studio and transforming it into office space and a photo/video studio to accommodate PR clients. The renovation project, which will house the company's operations, is located at 515 S. Blount Street in Raleigh.
Fields said: "We're a team of content creators and storytellers, and the journey of investing in this historic building, bringing it back to life, and helping to revitalize this community makes for a great story. It's not often an opportunity like this presents itself, so the fact that the PR PROS team partnered with another entrepreneur to create this win-win scenario, is a tremendous outcome."
PR PROS has been located in downtown Raleigh since 2004. The new building is located less than one-half mile from the former offices. The renovation process is anticipated to take 2 months with a total investment of approximately $100,000. The company also received a matching $25,000 City of Raleigh Building Upfit Grant (BUG) to improve the building. A site tour and walk-thru with general contractors bidding on the construction project will take place on Tuesday, May 14 at 9 a.m.
