Follow on Google News | Southern Ocean County Chamber brings Homeland Security Seminar June 5 at Ship Bottom Fire HouseNJ Office of Homeland Security & Preparedness, in cooperation with US Dept Homeland Security, Southern Ocean Chamber, Ocean County Prosecutor & Ship Bottom Police present free Security Initiative for local businesses to support safety and security.
By: Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce The program will run from 10:00am to 12:00pm on Wednesday June 5 at the Ship Bottom Volunteer Fire Company 2006 Central Avenue Ship Bottom. This is the third year the regional chamber has coordinated this effort to bring latest information and best homeland security practices to Southern Ocean County. Anyone who operates a business, volunteers or hosts events of any level should make attending this workshop. "We need to continue the conversation of this caliber as part of our preparation for the season" states Lori Pepenella, CEO of the Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce. "This is an opportunity for the business community to learn from having these experts available to us." The chamber reports almost 200 of businesspeople, community and event coordinators have these Hometown Security Initiative Sessions. This year will includopening remarks, a threat briefing, protective security measures, active shooter response, cybersecurity, and a facilitated discussion. The June 5 program will provide the opportunity for the Southern Ocean business community to collaborate with local, county, state and federal law enforcement as well as homeland security organizations.
