This spring they completed the 3rd party audit by Kitchens with Confidenceā„¢ officially certifying their products Free From the "Big 8" allergens. The stringent requirements of the audit examined not only recipes and ingredients but included 3rd party sourcing, an onsite inspection of Mulay's production facilities and require ongoing testing. The audit process was comprehensive, covering 20 main components of production with over 100 specific, critical control points and included the review of all policies, procedures, and operations ensuring safe, allergen-free manufacturing practices without the possibility of cross contamination.

The "Big 8" Allergens responsible for 90% of all food allergy reactions today include wheat, milk, eggs, soy, tree nuts, peanuts, fish, and shellfish. These allergens are among some the most common ingredients you'll find at home, in restaurants, and at the store. According to FARE, (Food Allergy Research & Education) researchers estimate up to 15 million Americans have food allergies, a number that is increasing each year. Anaphylaxis is a severe, potentially life-threatening allergic reaction triggered by the body's immune system, leading to over 300,000 ER visits every year!
