By: All-City Classic 302 Game 1: Laced The OG were trashed on Saturday, losing by 28pts. Their defense was terrible, with one steal total as a team, committing 13 turnovers before we stopped counting. They just couldn't move the ball, couldn't make a decent pass, hit an open 3, hit a free throw, block a shot, they couldn't do anything right. Mr. Magic and Maurice Furrowh combined for 2pts, 9rebs & 4assts. Eric Cotton was the only player hooping for them with 17pts. Danny chipped in 11pts. C-City looked unstoppable. Leaf put up 30pts effortlessly. He was lighting it up from the outside. B Lousse came out extra aggressively, chipping in 12pts & 8assts. It was a good win for them. C-City def Laced The OG 68-40. Game 2: Eastside was in it for the most of the game, but then let the game slip away as usual. 1st half was going well for them. Every time Clay City scored they had an answer. Lerrie Tate was aggressive, and everyone else followed. But 5 turnovers in the last few minutes of the 1st half slowed them down. They ended up with 15 turnovers overall, which basically killed their momentum, and cost the game. Careless passes turned into points for Clay City. Will led Eastside with 16pts & 3stls. Robert Bullock is desperately needed back for this unit. Truthfully, this is a game they should've won. Clay City was hitting all over. Darrell Johnson (aka The mid range killer), put up a 20 piece nugget along with 5rebs. He shot the ball so comfortably as he received perfect passes to his spots on the floor from Andre Saunders. Jamaal Wilkins decided he didn't have to score this game in order for them to win. Cedric Hardy played a significant role hitting open jumpers from all over the floor contributing 10pts. Clay City will upset somebody in the playoffs. They are a scary team. Clay City defeats Eastside 58-48. Game 3: One thing you can count on from Free Agents is that they will play a hard 33 minutes. For some reason, the last 3 mins in a game is when they're at their absolute worst. This game went back and forth, both teams answering every bucket. Free Agents actually led at the half. Shawn Pep G Green dropped 33pts. He was 6-10 from the arc. Lenell Laws was finding him, driving and setting him up for great shots. They just couldn't stop DSW in the end. Boobie, Timon Cartwright and Jermaine Daniels combined for a dismal 14pts & 9rebs, which won't get it done against a great DSW squad. If anyone knows the whereabouts of Free Agents coach please get him to contact us, they are a better team with him. DSW did what they do, never panicking. Between Evan Martin, Tail Davis, and Ak, they all picked and chose their spots and time to score at will. Tail Davis had a dub. Ak had 12pts & 6rebs and Evan dropped 18pts, 6assts & 5rebs. DSW is a different squad when J Byrd is playing. There was also solid play from Michael Boyd. Gerald Wilmore decided it wasn't necessary to score this game. DSW with the 64-47 win. Game 4: RBCBL/Philly runs this league as of now. Plain and simple. They got the reigning team in the tri-state, DSW, outta here a few weeks ago. Saturday they took down heavy hitters CBW, after they were predicted to lose by 10pts, showing heart and keeping composure down the stretch. Both teams were not at full strength, missing key players. It was a fast paced 1st half for both teams. Marky D was putting on a scoring clinic with 15pts, attacking the basket and draining three 3s. CBW had a 2pt lead at the half. 2nd half was fast paced but Philly's defense got a little tighter. They slowed Marky D down and most of the scoring had to come from substitute player Tail. He got Kyle Easley in foul trouble, who fouled out with 7 mins left. For the next 5 mins the score went back and forth. The turning point was when CBW scored but let Dwight Bishop casually bring the ball up and pull up for 3. As Dwight released the ball, he called bank, and he sure enough hit the bank shot 3, to grab the lead. Carelessly, CBW inbounded the ball for a long pass and Dwight was there to intercept and pass the ball ahead, which led to a transition layup for Young to put Philly up 5pts. A 5pt swing in 20secs. Tail did get a fade away AND1 after that, but CBW was unable to stop Philly. Levi Lamar took matters into his own hands and drove to the cup and shot a floater. As the ball went up, it bounced off the rim but Levi quickly out jumped 4 players and tapped his own missed shot back in. Basically sealing the deal. Things got chippy at the end of the game but hats off to RBCBL/Philly for pulling out the win. Philly's guard Chuck Holt who was determined by his stats as Player of the Game, played discipline basketball driving to the basket for layups and setting up his team. Young chipped in 14pts & 3rebs. Dwight Bishop was huge today with 9pts & 5rebs. Shombe was key off the bench as Kyle fouled out, getting 2pts & 7rebs. CBW struggled at the free throw line in the 2nd half. They missed 5 free throws. They also missed 5 out of their last 7 attempts shooting. RBCBL/Philly will be the team to beat in the playoffs.
