The Secret was partially recorded at Hybrid Studios in Santa Ana. Tom Brooks, who works closely with the OC studio, was in part responsible for orchestral arrangements and conducted the album's orchestra along with Parsons. The orchestra consisted of A-list LA session players like Vinnie Colaiuta and Nathan East, and they were recorded at Hybrid Studios during one of Alan Parsons' master classes in March 2018.
"We've all been eagerly anticipating Alan's new album," said Hybrid Studios Co-founder Billy Klein, "It was a huge honor to have had Alan and Tom work on a portion of the album here at Hybrid Studios, and I know fans are going to be blown away with his latest release. It's been fifteen years, but the music is well worth the wait!"
Perhaps best known as a multi-platinum engineer and producer, Alan Parsons has also been widely influential as an artist. Between 1975-1990 The Alan Parsons Project's theme-based brand of progressive pop racked up multiple hit singles and albums including the classics Eye In The Sky, I Wouldn't Want To Be Like You and Games People Play.
First week charts have been excellent for The Secret. In the US, the album reached #10 in Top Rock Albums, #11 in Top Independent Label Current Albums, #33 in Top Current Albums, and #36 in Billboard Top Albums. It's #12 on Germany's Album chart and #13 in Switzerland.
