STILLWATER, Okla. - May 7, 2019 - PRLog -- Given the challenges of today's film makers it is not a surprise to see new ways to help them get their just rewards.  With the difficulty in accomplishing recognition for hard work, a monthly film festival has arrived.  While it only serves its purpose online, it offers awards to those same film makers that are trying so desperately to find a foot hold in the market.  With the competition ending every month, the door to more awards is there. If you submit this month without winning an award, just resubmit next month to try again.  Not everyone can take first place each month but there are so many films that deserve awards that to only give them out to one film team is really not the way it should work.

But that is the challenge of film makers.  Get an award for your work so that you can add it to your resume.  Well, that's the goals of this festival.  To give more film makers that deserve to be noticed the opportunity to do just that.

We asked Guy Lozier to give us his thoughts on why he decided to take on this role in our communities.  Here is his response.

"Well, I have spent a lot of my time working on film projects and I always thought we needed a more simple method than the festivals I was entering.  While I have yet to take any large wins, I have taken on some recognition awards.  Well, I just don't have time to wait months to find out if I won or not.  So I came up with this idea to allow film makers the opportunity to compete every month with other film makers for the prize.  No more waiting 6 to 12 months to find out if I won or not.

Also I figured it would be fun to run a film festival as I had helped a friend of mine with his for a couple of years.  The Red Dirt Festival in Stillwater Oklahoma has been a lot of fun watching it progress over the years.  So now I can watch mine grow while more film makers have the chance to compete and win if their work is up to the test.

Currently there isn't any award venues but I have several that I could begin to use.  So later this year I will probably add that as a feature to the festival.  Also I could use some good judges to evaluate films for awards.  That just doesn't happen on its own.  While one individual's taste is okay, it requires several individuals to evaluate properly a film to see if it passes the test of diverse perspectives which is accomplished when two or more judges rate a film.  Send me an email if you want to help.  You can contact me through my internet site which should be listed below."
