PITTSBURGH - May 8, 2019 - PRLog -- Indie filmmakers typically have few options when it comes to showing their films, usually giving up any hope of actually having their film screened in an actual theater. A boutique brewery/theater in McKees Rocks, PA now not only provides just such an opportunity, it also gives local film lovers a unique venue to view films that otherwise may never see the light of day.

On Thursday, May 23rd at 6:30pm, Pittsburgh-produced indie horror film, "Dr. Ling's Torture Greenhouse" will be screened at "The Parkway Theater," located at 644 Broadway Ave, McKees Rocks, PA 15136 (communityreelartscenter.org) in the venue's 45-seat screening room. The entire cast and crew will attend, and the screening is open to the public. Tickets are $5 at the door.

Director Louis Timm said, "This is a landmark event for Trin Pictures. To think that our film will actually be shown on a big screen in front of a real audience is just thrilling to everyone involved in the project."

Although there are a myriad of online options for independent filmmakers to choose from to distribute their films, there are precious few actual theaters willing to take a chance on small productions. Those that do usually charge an exorbitant theater rental fee. "The Parkway Theater" donates their 45-seat screening room to independent filmmakers, on the condition that the filmmaker bring a minimum of 20 to view the film. During the screening, a full bar is available to enjoy, featuring the venue's very own hand-crafted beers as well as various other drink offerings.

"I think it's just wonderful that The Parkway Theater understands that indie films deserve to be seen communally, as films were originally meant to be experienced," stated Director Louis Timm. "I hope this screening draws a large crowd of local film lovers."
