Colonial Courtyard at Clearfield rolls on with Leonard Street Car Show

CLEARFIELD, Pa. - May 6, 2019 - PRLog -- One of the best shows on four wheels returns to Colonial Courtyard at Clearfield as the 11th annual Leonard Street Car & Bike Show is set for May 19.

     Proceeds from the popular event will benefit the Alzheimer's Association.

     The show traditionally has featured as many as 20 classifications of cars and bikes. Most years, 50 or more vehicles participate in the show held in the parking lot of the senior living community.

    Registration will be from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with the show set to run until 2:30 p.m. Awards and trophies will be presented at 3 p.m. The show is open to the public and car clubs are welcome.

    "The Leonard Street Car & Bike Show is an event our community and people throughout the area look forward to each May," said Joanie Taylor, Business Office Assistant at Colonial Courtyard at Clearfield and an organizer of the show. "We celebrated the 10th anniversary a year ago and the event continues to grow. Most important, it generates support for the Alzheimer's Association, a cause that means so much to the residents and team at Colonial Courtyard at Clearfield."

Classes in this year's car show include:

·         Modified (Up to 1969; 1970 to 1999; 2000 to present)

·         Stock Truck

·         Modified Truck

·         2-seat Sports Cars (Up to 1967; 1968-1996; 1997 to present)

·         Mustangs (1964 to 1978; 1979 to 2004; 2005 to present)

·         Stock (Up to 1954; 1955 to 1975; 1976 to 1999; 2000 to present)

·         American Motorcycles

·         Foreign Motorcycles

·         Camaro/Firebird (1966 to 1981; 1982 to 2002; 2003 to present)

·         Tuners

    "During the previous decade the car & bike show has attracted car enthusiasts from near and far who brought some really incredible vehicles to our lot," said Sandy English, Director of Sales and Marketing at Colonial Courtyard at Clearfield. "There is so much to see. We have vintage cars that tell a story about the history of the auto industry. We have muscle cars. We have motorcycles. There is a lot to see."

    Last year's car show raised $1,470 for the Alzheimer's association, the third straight year that at least $1,000 was raised through the event.

    In 2017, a total of $1,622.75 was raised.

    In 2016 the show raised $1,047.15, an increase over the $931 raised in 2015, and $925 on a rainy day in 2014.

   In the past eight years, Colonial Courtyard at Clearfield and the Leonard Street Car Show helped raise $8,871.90 for the Alzheimer's Association.

    The vehicle entry fee is a donation of $10. Concessions will be sold from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with all proceeds going to the Alzheimer's Association.

    "The Leonard Street Car Show has evolved over the years and continues to be a successful fund-raising event for the Alzheimer's Association," said Rebecca Dale, Executive Director of Colonial Courtyard at Clearfield. "Car enthusiasts look forward to the show each year and it continues to grow. We welcome the public as well as car clubs to participate."
