Follow on Google News | Week 6 is a wrap for All-City Classic 302 Legends LeagueMoving closer to the play-offs, no team is a sure thing, and with a few teams running hot and cold, play-offs will be interesting.
By: All-City Classic 302 Game 1: In a Double Overtime Thriller, Laced the OG won 51-49 over Noble Nine. figuring out how to win without SF, Meer Marley. With only 5 players, they controlled the game up until the last few minutes of the 2nd half. Noble Nine grabbed a 3pt lead and it was all Blake and Chad for about 10 mins. Chad Jonson had his mid-range game on point, lighting LtOG up with 18pts & 11rebs. Costly turnovers allowed LtOG back in taking a 3pt lead with 6secs left, after some clutch free throw shooting Magic. Jay Word was seen on the bench praying for a miracle shot from 1 of his teammates to send the game in OT. As the ball was inbounded, SG Lorenzo Wilson dribbled right to his sweet spot and pulled up from the top of the arc as time expired. OT was a chance for Noble Nine to get a win after failing to take care of business in regulation. They went up 2 in OT and committed a foul on Magic whose free throw shooting continued and sent the game into 2nd OT. Noble Nine ran out of steam. Magic came up with a huge block sending Noble Nine home. Big win for Laced The OG. Blacktop had 15pts, 7rebs, 4assts & 2 stls. Maurice Furrowh had 11pts, 3assts & 1stl. Noble Nine's Blake Saunders finished with 16pts, 4assts & 2stls. Game 2: Clay City did whatever they wanted to DSW in the 1st half. Tough defense from Steve and hot shooting from Lonnie Ward gave Clay City a 31-27 lead at the half. DSW looked as if they might lose, despite a strong 1st half from Evan and Tail Davis. Bethea walked in before the half, laced up his sneaks, and changed the game by driving to the rim and getting fouled. He tallied up 13pts, 5rebs, 3assts & a steal in the 2nd half. Clay City looked good most game. Lonnie Ward kept them afloat before fouling out with a game high 26pts, 5rebs, 5stls, 2assts & a block. Both teams went back and forth until DSW changed their game plan and gave Steve Green open looks for 3. He only connected for one in the half, which led to a 70-62 victory for DSW. Andre Saunders had a double double with 12pts, 10assts & 3rebs for Clay City. Tail Davis had 21pts & 6rebs for DSW. Game 3: The No.1 team Chester did what they were supposed to do to C-City. Fans in the stands mentioned it's unfair for Chester to have Daryl Sanders aka Thanos and another MVP candidate Bruce Caple on the same team. The biggest question is....Why does DSW continue to duck rec? A solid performance from all 5 Chester players gave them the 69-42 victory. Ra Henry with 11pts, 6assts, 3rebs & 1stl. Corbin with 14pts, 5rebs, 5assts & 1stl. Nathan Allen scored 12pts, Thanos 12pts & 14rebs. Bruce led all players with 19 and 10. C-City showed effort at times. They were led by Robert Quattlebum with 13pts. Derrick Nichols contributed 13pts, 8rebs, 1asst & 1stl. C-City just couldn't keep up with the pace. Game 4: RBCBL/Philly was up 1pt with 3mins left in the game, Final buzzer went off and Philly was up 14pts! Philly closed out on a 15-2 run. Very disrespectful, but nothing new as they lead the league in steals. That's all they dished out in the last few mins on defense. Every other offensive possession for Free Agents ended as a steal and bucket for Philly, who have a 90% rate of causing a turnover when they press teams. It causes chaos on the court. That's what happened, chaos. The old lady that lives across the street cheering for Free Agents, left the gym in disgust with 30secs left. She couldn't believe how reckless and disoriented Free Agents became when pressure was applied. The game was in Free Agents favor in the 1st half and they took a 25-18 lead. Shawn Pep G Green was lighting it up from the outside and All Pro Center, Abdur Scott, was having his way in the paint. RBCBL/Philly were frustrated & quickly turned it up. Dwight Bishop was unbothered and never worried about the deficit. He said they would win & Philly did just that. Chuck Holt did most damage in the 2nd half getting 8pts, 6assts, 4rebs & 3stls. The numbers might not look appealing but he was everywhere on the court, frustrating opponents and driving for layups. James Pope ended up with 14pts. 4rebs & 2 stls. Skinny Kyle (the league's Steals leader) had a few buckets and a steal. Jimmie Greeno had 8pts & a couple steals and Levi ended up as your Player of the Game with 14pts, 2stls, 1blk, 1asst & 3rebs. Game 5 was GAME OF THE WEEK, but did not live up to the hype, although CBW still put on a show with a convincing 64-37 win over Eastside. Love led the way & did whatever he wanted. Bilal had 9pts, a couple dunks, 2 blks & 11rebs. Cooley had 13pts, a few 3s, 4assts & 4rebs. Marky D had 13pts. Doc had 4pts & 5rebs and Droop played his heart out. CBW jumped out to a 8-0 lead from the tip and never looked back. Eastside will have to regroup and leave it behind them. Playoffs are approaching and they need to focus on the next 2 games and get a solid seeding. Lamar Davis led the way with 13pts, 6rebs & 2assts and Will added 14pts. Looking forward to the play-offs.
