In a presentation entitled, "How to Create a Marketing Process That Is Perfect for Your Dental Practice," McFadden drew a parallel between having an excellent dental marketing strategy and providing excellent dental care services to patients.
"One of the big takeaways for these dentists is the fact that practicing effective marketing is just like practicing effective dentistry," McFadden said after the presentation. "You must start with a proper diagnosis before treatment."
McFadden encouraged each member of the audience to develop a unique strategy for their specific dental practice. This includes activities like identifying what sets them apart from other dentists, creating a solid SEO strategy, and defining the exact marketing tactics that work best for their type of practice.
He also stressed the importance of valuing their ideal dental patient. An ideal patient, McFadden emphasizes, isn't someone who fails to show up for appointments, refuses to pay, or treats dental staff poorly.
"Many practice owners fall under what I think is the false assumption that anyone that has the money or insurance for their treatment or service is a prospective patient or an ideal patient," McFadden said.
Instead, McFadden encourages dentists to put some strategic thinking into developing connections with patients who are an ideal match for the practice. This allows dental offices to always focus their marketing efforts in a cost-effective, time-effective, and productive way.
