Follow on Google News | May Exhibit at the Geary Gallery in Darien, CTBy: Geary Gallery Jim Malloy is a national award-winning author, songwriter and gold record recipient who now expresses his creative ideas with the medium of acrylic paint. His artwork is known for its raw style, vibrant colors and bold, abstract style. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and raised in southern New Jersey, he graduated college with a Bachelor of Arts from Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania. He now resides in bucolic New Fairfield, Connecticut where he works from his studio in a quintessential New England town. Known for exploratory methods, vibrant colors and bold, abstract style, Malloy's current catalog includes more than 200 original works. Malloy is also an award-winning author of children's books and is currently working on several projects. He has designed covers for novels, including Pins & Needles, Let's Try This Again, Lifeline, Surrender, Rainbow's Redress and others. He has displayed his art at Ridgefield Guild of Artists in Ridgefield, CT, Society for Creative Arts in Newtown, CT, Spectrum Art Gallery in Centerbrook, CT, the CCNS Art Show in Rowayton, CT, and more. He is a participating member of the Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County, Ridgefield Guild of Artists, Society for Creative Arts in Newtown, Stamford Art Association and Carriage Barn Arts Center: New Canaan Society for the Arts.
