DENVER - April 29, 2019 - PRLog -- The Colorado Tiny House Festival is returning for its third year on the sprawling grounds of the Adams County Fairgrounds from Fri., June 21 through Sun., June 23, 2019. The Festival will debut its Camping Corner and a Skoolie Build/Bus Conversion Workshop, plus showcase more than 40 unique small living structures from tiny houses on wheels to container homes, skoolies, van conversions, gypsy wagons, teardrops, yurts and more.

New This Year:
Camping Corner: Nothing says summer in Colorado like a camping trip. Check out our Camping Corner to see the latest unique small living structures that can serve as your tiny home away from home. Camp in style with gypsy wagons, yurts, teardrop campers, teepees, van conversions, and more.

Skoolie Build/Bus Conversion Workshop: The hands-on two-and-a-half day workshop will feature experts who have completed multiple conversions and currently live in their skoolies. Workshop attendees will learn about choosing the right vehicle for their needs, gutting an old bus (including seat, floor, wall, and ceiling panel removal), insulation, plumbing and electrical, off-grid systems, framing and interior planning. They will have an opportunity to discuss different aspects of bus life and get their hands dirty with real life bus conversion. After attending the workshop, participants will gain knowledge which will help them save money and make their build more efficient and less stressful. To ensure the quality of instruction, the workshop is limited to 50 people.

Registration for this workshop is limited and includes weekend admission to the Colorado Tiny House Festival. Please note that standard admission to the Colorado Tiny House Festival DOES NOT include admission to the hands-on portions of this workshop.

In its first two years, the Colorado Tiny House Festival (http://coloradotinyhousefestival.com) has drawn crowds of more than 20,000 each year. The event is now being hosted by the newly established Colorado Tiny House Association (https://coloradotha.org). Art Laubach, Colorado Tiny House Festival organizer and director at the association is working to organize the tiny living movement in Colorado and help make tiny home living legal throughout the state.

"Tiny home living is becoming a bigger deal in Colorado," said Laubach. "Durango's first tiny-home community, Escalante Village, was recently announced, the small-home community Creede America continues to expand, many mountain towns have built tiny homes to rent to workers as affordable housing options, the town of Lyons recently approved an ordinance allowing a limited number of tiny homes to be used as accessory dwelling units, and now the town of Fountain is considering adopting zoning rules for tiny homes."

"As tiny home living expands it is critical to have an association that organizes all parties involved and represents the industry as a whole," Laubach continued. "Our mission with the Colorado Tiny House Association is to advocate, educate and legalize tiny homes, alternate living, and affordable housing in Colorado. The Colorado Tiny House Festival will continue to serve as a way to educate and show the public the latest trends in nontraditional housing as well as sustainable living, as well as showcase some of the incredible work that is being done by multiple businesses, many of them based in Colorado, in these areas."

The Colorado Tiny House Festival will blend the spirit of the tiny living movement with the most up-to-date information on going tiny, simplifying your life, minimalistic living, and living greener. In addition to tours of nearly 40 unique small living structures, attendees will also enjoy expert speaker presentations, hands on workshops, a product and service marketplace, entertainment, food, drink, and more.

A home is considered "tiny" if it has less than 600 square feet of living space. In contrast to average American homes, which have grown larger over time despite shrinking family sizes, tiny homes deliberately push the edge of low-space living. Financial advantages of tiny homes include low construction and land costs, low utilities and upkeep.
