Volunteer Training for Hospice Pet Peace of Mind® Program

LONGVIEW, Wash. - April 29, 2019 - PRLog -- Community Home Health & Hospice is offering a training class for its Pet Peace of Mind^® program. Volunteers who are interested in helping with the program are welcome to attend class on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, 2pm-3:30pm, at Community Home Health & Hospice, 1035 11^th Ave., Longview. In partnership with the national Pet Peace of Mind® program, Community Home Health & Hospice offers complimentary volunteer support and services for the pets of hospice patients. Hospice patients may face difficulty providing care for their pets. Pet Peace of Mind® offers them an extra pair of hands, so they do not have to worry about their pets' current care. Pets really are members of the family - and there is no more important time to keep pets and families together than during hospice care.

Like many local organizations, Community Home Health & Hospice needs volunteers in a number of different areas. Their greatest need is in the Longview Hospice Care Center sitting with patients, helping with meals, stocking linens and more. They also need volunteers for Pet Peace of Mind^® and their veteran program.  Pet Peace of Mind^® volunteers help with fostering pets, pet walking and transportation to veterinary or grooming appointments.
