The Firs Executive Director Named 40 Under 40 To Watch by Argentum
By: MBK Senior Living
As the leading national association supporting senior living communities and the seniors they serve, Argentum annually recognizes 40 professionals under the age of 40 who have implemented programs to advance senior living initiatives;
According to Rheinhardt, he was inspired to pursue a career in senior living after witnessing the high quality of care and attention provided to his grandmother whom he had a close relationship.
"From the start of my career, it has been my mission to live up to the standards that were set by the team who cared for grandmother,"
This genuine care, warmth, and attention to detail has earned both Rheinhardt and the community continuous high-marks from residents and family members. Two recent reviews include:
Rheinhardt began his career as a maintenance director and worked his way up to the assistant executive director, eventually becoming an executive director. As executive director of The Firs, he contributed to the development of multiple initiatives including employee recognition programs, an executive director in training process, and a mentorship program for executive directors.
Most recently, he navigated community operations and resident expectations while The Firs underwent a remodel. During the extensive renovation process, Rheinhardt successfully increased occupancy, exceeded census and NOI growth.
"It's not uncommon to see a dip in occupancy during renovations due to the noise and inconveniences of construction crews on-site," said Peter Richardson, regional director of operations for MBK Senior Living. "However, Max was able to not only maintain a high level of resident satisfaction, but he also grew occupancy to 100% and now has a waitlist of seniors interested in living at The Firs."
Under Rheinhardt's leadership, The Firs has earned numerous accolades including six Best of South Sound awards, the 2018 Senior Advisors Best of Olympia award, and certification as A Great Place to Work 2018-2019. In addition, MBK Senior Living has presented Rheidardt the "Highest Team Member Satisfaction"
In 2018 Rheinhardt earned a Certified Director of Assisted Living (CDAL) from the Senior Living Certification Commission (SLCC), a nonprofit corporation dedicated to professional development initiatives for senior living executives and staff members. To earn the certificate, professionals must demonstrate consistent, relevant, measurable and industry-recognized standards of practice. In addition, they must pass a written exam and demonstrate competency as a community leader.
"I am honored to be counted among the 40 Under 40 Argentum Class this year, and attribute in part this accomplishment to the CDAL certification I earned last year. The process was a great challenge that made me a better executive director," said Rheinhardt.
"Max truly has a passion for excellence. It inspires his team and is felt by residents and family members each time they walk through The Firs' front doors. We value his dedication and the contribution he makes daily to The Firs and MBK Senior Living," added Richardson.
