Junior Achievement of the High Plains, Holding 8th Annual Awareness Breakfast
By: Junior Achievement of the High Plains
Junior Achievement of the High Plains focuses on financial literacy, career development, and college and workforce readiness programs. Students learn financial topics such as budgeting, saving, the importance of establishing credit and how to minimize debt. Trained and passionate business volunteers from within the community lead the classes, while public support gives us the ability to continue to provide these enriching programs.
"Our partnership with Junior Achievement allows Happy employees help inspire students to become financially literate. The knowledge our students gain gives them the opportunity to become financially successful adults." – Mikel Williamson, President/COO of Happy State Bank
The goal of the Junior Achievement program has always been to prepare and inspire young people to succeed. Junior Achievement of the High Plains was brought to Amarillo by a group of local bankers who recognized a need for more financial education for students. The organization started with 497 students in AISD and currently serves more than 4,000 students in Amarillo, Bushland, Booker, Borger, Canyon, Dumas, Stinnett, and Fritch ISDs combined.
Media is encouraged to attend this invitation only breakfast to learn more about how Junior Achievement is helping our future leaders.
