ROCHESTER, N.Y. - April 23, 2019 - PRLog -- Natural Upcycling (NU), upstate New York's leading food waste collection company, would like to announce an exclusive New York distributor relationship with GreenEco Technologies, makers of the WasteMaster. The WasteMaster is a unit that agitates, shrinks and sterilizes food scraps. It is ideally suited for high volume generators of food waste that are motivated to reach zero waste status. The WasteMaster is perfect for: hospitals, food processors and manufacturers, hotels, restaurants, long-term care facilities, correctional institutions, schools and universities.

For those that are not currently in a food waste diversion program, New York state is offering up to 44% cost share for the purchase of food waste reduction equipment such as the WasteMaster.

The WasteMaster comes in a variety of sizes, from 650 lbs to 1650 pounds per day. It is extremely easy to load and operate. The resulting material is nearly odor free and reduces food waste collection frequency by 80-90%. Moreover, Natural Upcycling will commit to picking up the residual material, making this an entirely customer-friendly process.

NU's vision is to make it easy, efficient, and cost-effective for customers to divert food waste from landfills. This vision aligns well in western Massachusetts – where a limited food waste ban from landfills is already in place – as well as in New York where a similar program was just recently passed by the state government and will take effect by January 1, 2022.

Natural Upcycling is experienced in food waste collection with leading businesses such as Wegmans Food Markets as well as major university and foodservice customers. It is based in Linwood, New York and has operations in Albany, Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse and Ithaca metropolitan markets in New York State. NU also operates in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Maryland and Virginia.

Natural Upcycling uses a combination of composting, anaerobic digestion and now the WasteMaster to recycle and/or upcycle inedible food waste, with a tailored approach for each client. In 2018 alone, NU diverted over 55,000 tons of food waste from the landfill, or 9,000,000 lbs per month.
