(Miami, April 19th, 2019) Dranoff 2 Piano will present a 2 piano Cuban and Argentinian Jazz and Classical music concert on Friday, May 3rd at 8 PM in the Black Box of Miami-Dade County Auditorium, 2901 W. Flagler Street. "Classics of Argentina & Cuba – 2 Pianos & Song" is an exciting unique program featuring Miami's own Cuban-American piano duo Martin Bejerano and Kemuel Roig with the great Argentinian vocalist Roxanna Ahmed. "Classics of Argentina & Cuba – 2 Pianos & Song" is a performance of Latin America's Classical and Jazz most renowned and celebrated composers: Ernesto Lecuona, Alberto Ginestera, and an original work by Martin Bejerano the "Fantasia de Tres Mundos". Bejerano's work was awarded the Bacardi Choice commission. This annual award is for best contemporary Latin Jazz composers rising from the Miami scene today. Miami native, Martin Bejerano, is a soloist band leader and composer and is one of the hottest young pianist rising on the scene today. Kemuel Roig is one of Cuba's top young pianists coming to Miami to the Frost School of Music and recently winning Downbeat Magazine's award for outstanding composition and Jazz piano. Songwriter and vocalist, Roxanna Amed, is considered one of the most important voices in Argentine music today. Recently, performing at Dizzy's Jazz Club in NYC, The Stone and The Jazz Gallery. About the Artists Martin Bejerano, a native of Miami, Florida has been active as a professional musician and head of Jazz Keyboard at UM Frost School of Music. Martin's career as a solo artist, band leader and composer has blossomed with recent performances at Symphony Space, Dizzy's Club Coca Cola, Jazz Gallery, El Hatillo Jazz Festival, Barquisimeto Jazz Festival, and Festival Miami, as well as his trio being featured on NPR's nationally syndicated show "Jazz Set with Dee Dee Bridgetwater." Kemuel Roig, born in Camaguey, Cuba started his interest in music at the early age of four, where his first passion was to be a drummer. At the age of 18, he was invited with the MDC Hard Bop Ensemble to be part of the Umbria Jazz Festival in Italy. The next year, with the same group, Kemuel won a DownBeat Magazine Anual Competition under two categories, outstanding composition and piano solo. Throughout his life Kemuel has performed in tours, produced, and participated in recordings with great figures of the music such as: Arturo Sandoval, Al Di Meola, Giovanni Hidalgo, Chris Dingman, Issac Delgado, Amaury Gutierrez, Hilario Bell, Malena Burke, Marcos Vidal, Agustin Barreto, Ricardo Rodriguez, Felipe LaMoglia, Rene Gonzales, Danni Berrios, Ben-Hur Berroa, Linda Briceno, Aymee Nuviola, Marcos Roxana Ahmed, born in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina, is a vocalist and songwriter considered by colleagues, audiences and critics as one of the most important voices in Argentine music. She has released six albums and developed a sophisticated sound, a fusion of jazz with Argentine folk and rock, attributing some of the greatest authors in her country. LIMBO and ENTREMUNDOS were produced with Grammy Award winner Pedro Aznar (ex Pat Metheny Group). CINEMATECA FINLANDESA, was a celebrated duo album with Grammy Nominee Adrián Iaies, recently performed with a Symphonic Orchestra in Buenos Aires. INOCENCIA, tribute to Argentine folk, by the finest jazz musicians in Argentina. LA SOMBRA DE SU SOMBRA, duo album with NY based pianist composer Frank Carlberg, featuring original music to the poetry by Argentine poet Alejandra Pizarnik.
