This marks TrustSpheres' seventh appearance on the Honor Roll, with a further distinction of inclusion in the prestigious 2018 Global Top 50.

Following an assessment of approximately 1,200 organizations, TrustSphere was recognized in the Top 50 for excellence in data security, online consumer protection and responsible privacy practices. The audit, now in its tenth year, is the largest conducted by Internet Society's Online Trust Alliance (OTA). Offering a snapshot of the state of adoption of security and privacy best practice, OTA provides this benchmark research to promote improvements to data stewardship and privacy. Leading the implementation of data privacy and security best practice, 2018 Top 50 Honor Roll, which includes TrustSphere, represent the highest-scoring organizations during the assessment.

Publication of OTA's findings is particularly timely, with a recent report from Accenture indicating that there is potentially US$3 Trillion in value to be unlocked by ensuring employees gain greater trust in the use of workplace data by the employers.  The report states higher trust or the "trust dividend" would be worth more than a 6% increase in revenue growth.

TrustSphere CEO and Online Trust Alliance Chairman Emeritus Manish Goel echoed this sentiment, sharing, "Maintaining online trust is more important today than ever before. With the sheer volume of individual data generated exceeding that of any other time in history, we are at a crossroads."

Released on April 16, the Online Trust Audit & Honor Roll states, "In many areas, business practices are moving out of alignment with consumer expectations. Left unchecked, mistrust in the privacy and security offered by organizations may have chilling effects. For the Internet economy to prosper, users need to be able to trust that their personal information will be secure, their preferences respected and their privacy protected."

Goel concluded, "Either individuals will continue to trust the organizations to whom they share their data, or they will stop using their services.
