FRESNO, Calif. - April 22, 2019 - PRLog -- Today, during World Health Organization's World Immunization Week 2019 (https://www.who.int/news-room/events/detail/2019/04/24/default-calendar/world-immunization-week-2019), Susanne Rea has announced in a live broadcast (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7usgf1gYuc) from Australia that The World's Greatest Meal to Help End Polio (WGMeal.com) (https://wgmeal.com/) has surpassed $10,000,000 US Dollars in donations. All proceeds are sent directly to The Rotary Foundation (https://www.rotary.org/en/about-rotary/rotary-foundation)'s Polio Plus program, helping Rotary (https://www.rotary.org/)'s efforts to end Polio.

WGMeal.com is an initiative started by Rotarians in 2014 that thanks to its team members and digital marketing has reached more than 80 countries worldwide. Part of the success of this initiative is the simplicity to join and how much fun people have when enjoying a meal with friends and raising money for a good cause.

"The passion to help end Polio, five years and a lot of hard work mingled with fun, travel and like-minded Rotarians have led us to this point, but still the project must continue until Polio is defeated"
–Rotarian Susanne Rea, Co-founder of WGMeal

Polio, a highly infectious disease, causes paralysis and is sometimes fatal.  As there is no cure, the best protection is prevention. It has been proven that with the Polio vaccine, a child can be protected against this crippling disease for life.  Polio could be the first human disease of the 21st century to be eradicated.

"It is an honor to be part of this great initiative that with the help of friendship, food, vaccines, and digital marketing, is helping to fulfill the promise made in 1985 by Rotary, to help save humanity from Polio. International fellowship to help others, this is what Rotary is all about."
–Rotarian Alex Casteleiro, Digital Marketing Director of WGMeal
