Health and Safety Leader Receives Francophone Honour

 
HAMILTON, Ontario - April 18, 2019 - PRLog -- Anne Tennier, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS) has been awarded the medal of the 2019 Ordre de la Pléiade by the Ontario Branch of the Parliamentary Assembly of Francophonie (APF). The investiture ceremony was held on April 15, 2019, at the Legislative Assembly of Ontario in Toronto.

Tennier, well known in Hamilton for her community involvement was one of six Ontarians to receive the award. In addition to being President and Chief Executive Officer of CCOHS, she is involved with the Hamilton Conservation Foundation, is the chair of the board of directors for the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra, and is a director of the Centre francophone Hamilton, a multidisciplinary centre that promotes Francophone arts and culture.

The Ordre de la Pléiade is an internationally-recognized award bestowed upon individuals who have made significant contributions to their francophone communities and upheld the ideals of the Assemblée parlementaire de la Francophonie.

Recipients of the Order of the Pléiade are selected, by a committee of non-partisan parliamentarians, for their outstanding contributions to La Francophonie Ontario.
