Follow on Google News | Jim Tunney to be inducted into California Interscholastic Federation Hall of FameBy: Jim Tunney Dr. Tunney, an earned doctorate in education from USC, is being recognized for his 25-year interscholastic contribution in the Los Angeles City Schools as a teacher, coach, and high school principal as well as a high school football and basketball game official. After graduating from Occidental College, Tunney began teaching and coaching at Lincoln High School where he later became vice-principal. He moved from there to become principal at Fairfax, Franklin and Hollywood High Schools. He left LAUSD in 1975 to become the Superintendent for the Bellflower Unified School District. In his 31-year NFL career, Tunney officiated four Super Bowls and 29 post-season NFL games. He is the author of 12 books and is an internationally recognized motivational speaker.
