By: www.melloedrama.com With the amount of flourishing artists growing inside the city of Chicago, Chicago is on the rise to becoming the nation's newest hub for art. And because of that, we have art curators such as Roe Melloe to thank for it. "The rise of art in Chicago is due in part to the rise of social media. Artists have been given a social tool to showcase their work globally in a digital ecosystem. This has paved the way to a whole new generation of creatives with unlimited exposure," says Roe Melloe, founder of Melloe Drama. Roe Melloe is an advocate for education, justice, and reform in Chicago and believes that through art, people can come together, formulate stimulating conversations, and most importantly execute change. "My mission to provide accessibility for the next generation of rising artists and create unique platforms of inclusion to be artistically expressive," Throughout Spring and Summer of 2019, Roe Melloe will launch a series of activations showcasing visually aesthetic pieces of art and exhibitions that is meant to be a catalyst for change, culture curation and self-reflection. His series of events include: • Melloe Mondaze curated by Roe Melloe (Every other Monday) • Culture Ball's Culture Exhibit presented by Melloe Drama (Saturday, April 20, 2019) • The Artisan Collective Soft Opening (Saturday, April 27, 2019) • ACTIVATE Alley with the Loop Alliance (Thursday, June 6, 2019) As a transdisciplinary, creative entrepreneur and artist, Roe Melloe currently serves as the creative director for the Artisan Collective, president of the South Side Community Art Center (NexGen Associate Board), and creative director for the William Hill Gallery.
