ORLANDO, Fla. - April 16, 2019 - PRLog -- The 3rd annual Touched By Type 1 Conference educates and empowers kids, teens and adults who are impacted by (or have a connection to) Type1 Diabetes. The conference will be held at Rosen Shingle Creek in Orlando, Florida on May 18, 2019 from 8am to 5pm. Registration is $10 per person and includes all event materials, breakfast and lunch.

The event features nine hours of varying sessions for all ages by leading national experts. The Touched by Type 1 Conference is organized by Dancing for Diabetes, a Central Florida nonprofit organization whose mission is to spread awareness of the impact that Type 1 Diabetes, has on roughly 1.25 Million America children and adults. Through the art of dance, DFD has been raising funds to find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes for nearly 20 years.

Our (DFD) goal is to support local individuals and families who are impacted by type 1 Diabetes and to raise funds to support the Diabetes Research Institute – to find a cure!" Impact: There are three primary types of Diabetes (Type 1, Type 2 and Gestational).  Prevalence: In 2015, 30.3 million Americans, or 9.4% of the population, had some type of diabetes.  The Orlando nonprofit Dancing for Diabetes focuses on Type 1 Diabetes which impacts approximately 1.25 million American children and adults. Type 1 Diabetes was once known as juvenile diabetes or insulin-dependent diabetes. It is a chronic condition in which the pancreas produces little or no insulin.
