Northwest Honda Dealers Donate $1,000 to St. Mary's Academy

PORTLAND, Ore. - April 16, 2019 - PRLog -- Your local Northwest Honda Dealers Association (NWHDA) remains dedicated to helping worthy schools in the area through its "School is Better Thanks to Your Local NW Honda Dealer" program. During the 2018-2019 school year, the Northwest Honda Dealers Association (NWHDA) will be awarding $1,000 monthly to local schools of their choice.

Since many districts have been forced to make deep cutbacks in both teaching positions and curriculum, these donations will allow schools to purchase needed supplies and equipment, and fund important programs. Everyone in our NW Honda Dealers family is committed to supporting local schools and families, and to building bridges in our community.

St. Mary's Academy in The Dalles is the seventh of 10 schools to be recognized for its commitment to creating a learning environment in which every student's potential can be discovered and developed.

Aaron Carter, managing partner of Columbia Gorge Honda, will be presenting the $1,000 check to Principal Kimberly Koch on Wed., April 17 at 3 p.m.

"Just as we here at Columbia Gorge Honda are committed to providing excellent customer service to everyone we come in contact with, St. Mary's Academy in The Dalles believes in developing the values of service and stewardship in each of its students," said Carter.

"These funds will help us to continue providing excellence in education, which has been our school's tradition since its founding in 1864," said Koch. "We will continue to motivate our youth to become respectful, responsible citizens." Engaging, age-appropriate programs help students understand the main pillars of good citizenship, which include: (1) being respectful of other people and their property, (2) being respectful of school and other public property, (3) following school rules, and (4) displaying good character (responsibility, honesty, good listening, kindness).
