Follow on Google News | "Black" Ravenel Offers to Replace Thomas Amidst Southern Charm ControversyIan Morse, Manager (845)-551-7515 ianmorse5@hotmail.com Will the show take advantage of this opportunity? Charleston, SOUTH CAROLINA, March 29th ā On Friday night in Downtown Charleston, the cast of the hit reality TV series "Southern Charm" were spotted in the newly renovated nightclub Trio's to attend a surprise performance by Quentin Ravenel, a well known and respected drummer and singer in the Charleston community. While one Ravenel had an incredible performance before a packed out crowd, it was the other Ravenels (Thomas) absence that has been the subject of national news and has placed the show in an unfavorable light. Following Quentin's performance, Craig Conover ("Bravo") of the cast had the following to say: "Quentin was absolutely incredible. I would love to have him perform at my private events back in D.Cā¦ we can probably even get him on the show." Quentin and Thomas Ravenel are both native to the Low Country. However, Quentin, unlike Thomas, is Black. House slaves used to inherit the slave masters name, a la a black "Ravenel" was born. Quentin has toured with Wiz Khalifa and John Legend. Recently, he has appeared at Billboard Music Awards and EDC Festival in Las Vegas. Quentin can be found on Instagram @supermanq. This twist of fate could be exactly what Southern Charm is looking for and would increase the show's publicity by hiring a black "Ravenel" to replace Thomas.
