LISBON, Portugal - April 12, 2019 - PRLog -- WHAT: The largest congress covering all topics on allergy and clinical immunology in the world.

WHEN: 1-5 June 2019

WHERE: Lisbon, Portugal, Feira Internacional de Lisboa (FIL)

WHO: Over 8,000 clinicians and researchers in the field of allergy and clinical immunology from all over the world; Special guests: Francisco Mojica, Spanish microbiologist known for his research on the CRISPR gene editing technique and winner of the Albany Medical Center Prize; Abul K. Abbas, renowned pathologist at University of California San Francisco.

DETAILS: With 150 million people suffering from allergic diseases in Europe and the number expected to rise to half of the European population in 2025, the time is ripe to discuss ways to tackle this growing epidemic. More than 8,000 clinicians and researchers will convene in Lisbon to discuss the latest developments, challenges and best practices in the field of allergy, asthma and clinical immunology at the EAACI Annual Congress 2019. 52 symposia will explore, amongst others, contemporary topics such as food allergy, prevention of allergy in early life, management, new therapeutics, and precision medicine.

The meeting will focus attention on the influence of our natural and man-made environments on the incidence of allergy: exploring allergic diseases' links to air pollution, climate change, pollen monitoring and hygiene, in light of the world's commitments to Sustainable Development Goal 3 of "Ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages".

New guidelines for allergy care, on skin allergy and allergen immunotherapy, detailing the recommendations for clinicians to deliver the best level of allergy care (diagnosis, treatment and management) to allergic patients, will be launched for the first time at the EAACI Annual Congress 2019.
