Acts 4 Ministry, Inc. Board of Directors Welcomes New Chairperson, John Bishop
Woodbury, Connecticut resident John Bishop has been named chairperson of the non-denominational non-profit organization's Board of Directors. The organization fulfills the basic daily living needs of people who have unexpectedly lost their homes.

We partner with churches, social service agencies, private and public schools to help identify and serve people with these needs regardless of their faith, race, creed, or national origin, or their willingness to participate in religious activities."
"Acts 4 Ministry, Inc. continues to steadily expand and grow," continued Carabetta, "and our organization's stability and growth are dependent in part on a strong, community-minded board of directors guided by knowledgeable individuals such as John who are active and well-known in the Greater Waterbury area. As our organization grows so does our need to maintain our volunteer board of directors with prominent individuals from different professions throughout the region."
John Bishop has been a Human Resources professional with the State of Connecticut since 1999. He possesses experience with recruitment and HR generalist functions, and currently, his work focuses on labor relations issues. Prior to his work experience with the State of Connecticut, he was a Social Worker with the Department of Children and Families from 1995 to 1999.
Since August of 2016, he has served as president of the Board of Directors of the Heritage Hill Condominium Association (HHCA) in Woodbury, CT. Since 1999, he has served on the HHCA Board including taking on the responsibilities of the position of vice president between 2000 and 2016.
Mr. Bishop has been affiliated with Christ the Redeemer Church (CRC), formerly Southbury Baptist Church, and gave his life to Christ in January 2007. He has served as Deacon at the church since 2008 and has held the role of Deacon Chairman/Administrative Deacon since 2011. He states that his, "Passion is interacting with visitors to the church in an effort to help create a welcoming atmosphere at CRC."
Additional current members of the Acts 4 Ministry Board of Directors are James Zoldy of Goshen with Halsey Associates; Susie Jones-Szoldra of Plymouth with Davita Greater Waterbury; John G. Rowland of Middlebury with Prison Fellowship Ministries; and Caitlin Sheedy of Naugatuck with FD Community Federal Credit Union.
Acts 4 Ministry's offices and community services store are located at 1713 Thomaston Avenue in Waterbury. Tax-deductible donations may be brought year-round to the location Mondays through Wednesdays 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and Thursdays 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. when volunteers and community partners are also welcomed.
The store and donation center is open to the general public Thursdays 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Fridays 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Saturdays 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
