New Live Action Aladdin Inspires an International Bellydance PartyCelebrate the long-awaited premier of Disney's live action Aladdin by learning to bellydance at this free event.
By: SharQui - The Bellydance Workout Participants in this free event will learn the essential movements of authentic bellydance and take home a free digital album of bellydance music for their own 1001 Nights party. "Who doesn't wish to instantly have a healthy source of energy, fun, and stress relief?" says Oreet, the founder of SharQui, "You don't need to wiggle your nose to make that wish come true because it's so much easier to just wiggle those hips!" According to Oreet, the women in her Yemeni family would use dance as a stress release the way other people might grab a smoke or a drink. "My grandmothers and aunties didn't have easy lives, but they didn't miss a chance to shake off their worries. Growing up in Israel, family celebrations were my chance to watch the women in my family get up and bellydance, no matter what age, size and physical capability. The love of the music and the dance just exuded out of them. So with a movie coming out that highlights the music, dance and culture, I wanted to share this message with a wider audience," says Oreet. SharQui instructor Marisa says, "It's going to be a fun time to let loose with your friends and meet new people. The moves like the Flying Carpet Undulation, Hookah Arms, and Sultan's Glide are all easy to learn and make anyone feel regal and enchanting. Part of why SharQui helped me overcome significant health challenges - a 110 pound weight loss and eliminating type 2 diabetes - was that these bellydance moves are a powerful confidence booster." Certified SharQui instructors can be found around the world. Instructor Raewyn Snook of Mapua New Zealand says, "I've noticed that this dance form is conducive to creating friendships among participants, whether it's in-person classes or our online community. I love that we have certified SharQui instructors from Spain to Saudi Arabia, it's a worldwide family." SharQui is accredited by major fitness governing bodies ACE, AFAA, and NASM, and takes its name from the Arabic 'Raks Sharki, Dance of the East', known in the West as bellydance. • This free event will take place online and in-person in Arkansas, California, Hawaii, Illinois, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, and Spain. • Participants should dress comfortably but with some added bling; suitable for a night out in Agrabah - we supply the jangling hip scarves • To reserve your tickets and receive a free SharQui workout album of original bellydance music for your own Aladdin-inspired dance party, go to SharQui.com.
