Visitors to Mounts will also want to experience the amazing eco-exhibition, CUTTING CORNERS: A Stickwork Exhibit, which will be on display through summer and beyond. Succulents 101 Thursday, April 4 – 10 to 11:30 am Mounts Auditorium $25 for Mounts members; $35 for nonmembers. Learn the secrets to caring for these low-maintenance plants. Succulent enthusiasts will learn how to create a color wheel container composition, stress their plants to reveal beautiful hues, and make a dazzling floral-style arrangement. Tips will be shared on how to choose and care for succulents that thrive in low-light areas. Grooming the Garden Saturday, April 2 & May 4 – starting at 8:30 am Mounts Botanical Gift Shop FREE for Mounts members For anyone who ever wanted to get "hands on" in Mounts Botanical Garden, this is the perfect opportunity. On the first Saturday every month, volunteers—whether they are new to gardening or have a certified green thumb—are invited to assist with weeding and pruning in selected areas of the Garden. No RSVO or experience is required. Just show up—but remember to bring sunscreen, hat, gloves, and water. For questions, email mallory@mounts.org. Mounts 20th Annual Spring Benefit Sunday, April 7 – 5:30 to 8 pm At a private garden in Palm Beach $175 per person Friends of the Mounts Botanical Garden is hosting this enchanting annual fundraising event that will feature an open bar, hors d'oeuvres, live music by the Neil Bacher Trio, and a lavish silent auction featuring a diverse array of rare and exotic plants, orchids and eye-catching arrangements. The Benefit co-chairs are the current and past presidents of Friends of the Mounts Botanical Garden: Sandy Smith and Polly Reed. Plant-A-Palooza Annual Spring Plant Sale + Saturday, April 27 – 9 am to 4 pm + Sunday, April 28 – 9 am to 3 pm Throughout the Garden & in the Exhibit Halls FREE for Mounts Members; $10 for non-members This two-day annual event features more than 80 vendors with everything one needs for a home garden, including rare, exotic and hard-to-find plants, trees, herbs and garden accessories, with additional horticultural "must-haves" Note: Mounts members can enjoy early entrance at 8 am on Saturday and enjoy a continental breakfast in the Member Hospitality Chickee Hut. Also at Mounts Throughout April & May CUTTING CORNERS: A Stickwork Exhibition Daily – 10 am to 4 pm Mounts The Great Lawn FREE for members; $10 for nonmembers; $5 for children ages 5-12 This awe-inspiring new eco-exhibition is part of the Garden's 40th Anniversary Ruby Jubilee celebration and runs through June. Located in the Great Lawn area of the Garden, this interactive, environmental exhibit features an original, massive, stickwork sculpture designed by internationally acclaimed artist Patrick Dougherty and created on site through a "community build" by 106 volunteers utilizing 30,000 pounds of willow. The exhibition invites visitors to wander through, admire, and become part of a living art experience. Note: Tickets are available for purchase at www.mounts.org or at the Garden's main gate.
