Pete Escovedo CONFIRMED for Free Santa Cruz International Jazz Day Concert

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - April 2, 2019 - PRLog -- The Sixth Annual Santa Cruz International Jazz Day Concert will be held at the Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf Bandstand on Sunday, April 28, 2019 from 12:00 noon to 5:00 pm.

This year Santa Cruz International Jazz Day is thrilled to confirm that World renown Latin Jazz Percussionist Pete Escovedo featuring Juan, and Peter Michael Escovedo and the Escovedo Orchestra will be headlining the free concert on the Santa Cruz wharf bandstand. Admission is free and open to the public.

The International Jazz Day All Stars will be opening the event from Noon until 2:00pm with Jean-Jacques Tiab (France) Clarinet & Alto Saxophone, Tyrone Brown (Philadelphia) Bass, Lewis Keizer (San Mateo) Coronet, Martan Mann (Santa Cruz) Piano, and Prince Lawsha (Santa Cruz) Drums.

The nine piece Pete Escovedo Latin Jazz Band (Los Angeles) will be performing from 2:45pm to 5:00pm


A project of UNESCO/Paris, the Herbie Hancock Jazz Institute, Smithsonian Institute and QS Music Productions.International Jazz Day is held worldwide each year presenting jazz concerts, educational seminars, lectures and films to jazz audiences.

During the week prior to the Concert, the musicians will be presenting Music Seminars at local Santa Cruz schools in conjunction with the Santa Cruz County Office of Education.
