MCDONOUGH, Ga. - April 2, 2019 - PRLog -- The Caribbean Association of Georgia, Inc., (CAG) celebrates 10-years of serving the community during the 9th Annual McDonough Caribbean Cultural Festival, June 15, 2019 at the newly renovated Avalon Park, 1068 Industrial Parkway McDonough, GA 30253 from 1:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. The event is free and open to the public. It is one of three premiere events sponsored by the City of McDonough and one of the largest held there each year. In honor of 10 years of service, the Caribbean Association of Georgia is pulling out all the stops with an action-packed day of entertainment, contests, vendors, food, music and games. It will all culminate in a daylong experience that celebrates the beauty, impact and contributions of metro-Atlanta's Caribbean American community.

The Caribbean Association of Georgia is adding several unique features to this year's celebration. First, festival-goers will experience a high stakes competitive dominos tournament where participants will form teams and register to win a cash prize. CAG is also making plans to host a kid's soccer tournament to kickstart the event. It will gather student athletes from across metro-Atlanta. Plus, there will be delicious food, treats and drinks representing islands and cultures throughout the Caribbean. The day will include live performances from talented performers and music from event sponsor, 106 Live Radio and DJ Ezzy B. Kids will enjoy a day of fun and games in the Kid's Zone. They'll have a ball with face-paint, inflatables, games and giveaways. Seniors and adults can take advantage of free health screenings and the blood mobile will be there to take donations.

Featured vendors representing the Caribbean diaspora will offer handmade jewelry, clothing, products and services to everyone who attends. "We are excited because we are in a new location this year and the park has several improvements that will help our vendors and guests enjoy their experience," said CAG President, Chris Scott. "The City of McDonough is creating a beautiful family-friendly facility at Avalon Park. It will have a newly constructed playground, splashpad and ample parking." Scott said, "We are expecting larger crowds, which means even more fun. Each year, we get bigger and better and the event hits a new milestone of success." Last year, the McDonough Caribbean Cultural Festival welcomed more than 6,000 guests. The organization is hoping to draw even more guests this year. "We work really hard to make sure that it's an exciting fun family-friendly day."

This year, the festival will honor those in public service including; elected officials and local leaders. Last year, the organization honored Caribbean trailblazers in the media including; CBS46 Producer, Belinda James, Chubb Rock & Marissa Williams of MAJIC 97.5/107.5 and renowned Caribbean Radio Personality, Wayne Hall.

The McDonough Caribbean Cultural Festival hosted by CAG has been serving the community since 2010. The goal is to help educate and share a rich and diverse array of Caribbean cultural expressions with the public. "We want to enhance the quality of life for our guests while supporting local businesses and the economy; and showing everyone Caribbean hospitality," said Scott.
