Atlanta Nonprofit Hosts Community Walk for Sexual Assault Awareness Month

By: The Let Your Voice Be Heard Foundation, Inc

ATLANTA - March 28, 2019 - PRLog -- Local nonprofit organization, The Let Your Voice Be Heard Foundation, Inc, is gearing up for its eighth annual benefit event. This year, the foundation has partnered with Sexual Abuse Speak out to organize The Let Your Voice Be Heard Foundation's third Teal Walk. The objective of this event is to raise awareness about sexual violence and raise funds to help facilitate programs and provide resources to sexual abuse survivors.

Located at Village Park in Ellenwood, Georgia, the Teal Walk is a family-friendly event intended to entertain and enlighten the community. Participants can expect a fully engaged experience including live performances, vendors from across Atlanta, food, and a plethora of activities. Per usual, the event is hosted by Atlanta's own DJ Sed the Saint.

Although the walk is an estimated 2K trek, participants and supporters are sure to be enthralled by the special aspects of this year's benefit event. As walkers blaze the trail of the park they can experience the splendor of the customized vehicles on display as a part of the car show courtesy of the Anonymous Rydaz Car Club.  For parents who wish to participate in the walk, The Let Your Voice Be Heard Foundation, Inc has partnered with local Atlanta artist Doriane Sewell to bring any youth supporters a FREE art session entitled Caprisun & Color. This FREE activity is considered the youth version of a Sip and Paint event.

As they embark upon their 2019 event to be held on April 27th, just at the end of National Sexual Assault Awareness Month, board members of The Let Your Voice Be Heard Foundation and the planning committee for Teal Walk have one specific end goal in mind: increasing awareness.

"In this era, more than ever, there is a dire need to keep raising our voices and keep giving hope and encouragement to survivors," says the founder of The Let Your Voice Be Heard Foundation, Kenni York. "We see in the media, and many of us see in our every day lives, how hard it is for victims to speak up and get the support they need from the community, the justice system, and often times even within their families. The funds we raise through our charitable events allows us to keep implementing programs to help survivors, to get them the resources they need to move forward, to educate the masses about sexual violence, and to simply make a difference within the community."
